“And this commandment we have from him:
whoever loves God must also love his brother.”

~ 1 John 4:21 ~

FEBRUARY is a month when we especially express our love for others. You, dear partner, have shown great love to our mossy foot patients. Due to your generosity we were able to achieve the following in 2021.

  • Over 14,000 patients were treated at our 16 clinics and given treatment supplies of bleach, Whitefield ointment, and soap.
  • Advocacy and capacity building help raised the awareness of mossy foot disease to 168 health professionals and 336 health extension workers.
  • Awareness outreaches with posters and leaflets brought prevention information to schools, health care centers, and community events.
  • Awareness was raised through social media and local radio broadcasts.
  • 112 awareness creation events were held at faith-based organizations, 224 events at the community level, and 224 events at the school level.
  • Social Support and rehabilitation was facilitated through building 14 houses for mossy foot widows. 56 young patients received vocational training. 900 patients received self-help loans. 210 children in mossy foot families received school supplies. 80 mossy foot family children and adults received animals (chickens, goats and cows).

We couldn’t have reached these goals without you and our dedicated staff in Ethiopia.

As the world continues to spiral into what seems like more and more conflict and polarization, simple acts of kindness in extending help to the most vulnerable become even more valuable and meaningful. Every one of the numbers in the list above represents a person whose life has been impacted for good.

Patient care and education is a core priority at the 16 clinics.

Patients receive vocational training and loans and are able to open successful businesses.

Thank you so much for continuing to support this valuable, life changing ministry. We so appreciate you prayers and support.
