In the United States, we are celebrating Thanksgiving. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for you, dear partner. What a privilege it is to be able to be part of the Mossy Foot ministry that is transforming lives. What a blessing that we are not in this endeavor alone but joined by you!

This month I want to highlight two parts of our work. First, a widow, Belaynesh. Mossy Foot Project helped build her a house. But she was sleeping huddled together with her children shivering, without a blanket to keep them warm at night. Recently we were able to bless her with a nice, warm blanket. Now the family is warm at night and very happy.

Secondly, our patients are so poor that having adequate food for themselves and their children is a huge challenge. Recently, Zebdewos, our Executive Director, had the clinic site workers at our 16 clinics identify the very neediest patients. Then our staff went to market and bought 16 female goats.

These were distributed to our neediest patients. The goats will supply milk and cheese for these impoverished patients and their families. The recipients raised their hands to praise God for the goats.

It never ceases to amaze me how a small amount of funding can totally transform a patient’s life. When they first come to our clinics, their feet are in terrible, disfigured, smelly condition. They are the outcasts of society. Afflicted children have to leave school. People lose their jobs. We even have an afflicted pastor who was told to go home and worship God by himself.

When patients get treatment at our clinics, their feet become well. Then they are given self help loans or vocational training to help restore their lives. They have a future and hope. They are accepted back into their communities. Their self worth is restored.

November 29th is GivingTuesday, a global movement dedicated to generosity. After two days of getting deals—Black Friday and Cyber Monday—GivingTuesday is a day for giving back. This year, would you consider supporting Mossy Foot Project in transforming the lives of the poorest of the poor in Ethiopia? Your contributions have a tremendous impact on each individual and family helped.

Thank you and may God bless you.
