Dr. Barlow began treating Mossy Foot patients in 1997. Since then many people have experienced radical improvement in the condition of their feet using the simple treatment techniques that he perfected.
Now as the Mossy Foot Project leadership is considering opening clinics in a region where people have never had opportunity for treatment, former patients at some of the existing clinic sites are going through a formal graduation to mark their new recovery status.
Recently, our National Director attended the graduation of 216 improved patients at the Shanto site. Accompanying him were several Ethiopian government officials who were very pleased and supportive of the work Mossy Foot Project is doing.
During the graduation, patients shared their testimonies, thanking God and Mossy Foot Project for the transformation in their lives. One woman shared that after the condition of her feet improved she received vocational training in hair dressing. With the money she made from her business she was able to pay for her husband’s education. Now he is employed as an engineer. Another woman reported that with the self-help loan from Mossy Foot she was able to support herself and her children by raising animals.
