Alemu was a teenager with mossy foot disease when he was selected at one of our clinics to receive vocational training at the Mossy Foot Project headquarters. When our Director saw the severe condition of Alemu’s feet he told him, “Your feet are so bad that you will never be able to conduct a business. I’m sorry but you should go home.”
The distraught teen fell to his knees and pleaded “Please, please give me a chance.” Meskele relented so Alemu was trained as a carpenter.
Since that time Alemu established a very successful carpentry business. Also, he trained five other mossy foot patients who went to their own villages and started their own businesses.

Due to his disease he had to drop out of school at tenth grade. Now Alemu has graduated from high school. The last time I saw Alemu he had quit his business and started a church where he is the pastor. It is so rewarding to see the restoration in Alemu’s life and his heart to help others and serve God.

This is just one instance of how your contributions are having life changing impacts in the lives of mossy foot patients. I cannot thank you adequately for partnering
with us through your prayers and financial contributions.
With much gratitude,
