Sorrow Into Joy
Alemu was a teenager with mossy foot disease when he was selected at one of our clinics to receive vocational training at the Mossy Foot Project headquarters. When our Director saw the severe condition of Alemu’s feet he told him, “Your feet are so bad that you will never be able to conduct a business. I’m sorry but you should go home.”
The Joy Of The Community
Isaiah 25:4
“You have been a refuge for the poor, , a refuge for the needy in his distress,
A shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.”
Self-Help Loans and Treatment bring Hope
I am excited to let you know about my upcoming trip to Ethiopia from May 31st through July 2nd. Over three years have passed since I was able to walk the familiar streets of Soddo (pictured above). What a joy it will be to reunite with our staff, who are like family to me.
2022 Year in Review
“Whatever you did for the least of these, you did for Me.” Matt. 24:40
We are so grateful for what God has accomplished through the Mossy Foot ministry in 2022 to treat and restore our patients’ lives. This would not have happened without your partnership, prayers, and contributions.
November 2022
In the United States, we are celebrating Thanksgiving. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for you, dear partner. What a privilege it is to be able to be part of the Mossy Foot ministry that is transforming lives. What a blessing that we are not in this endeavor alone but joined by you!
Shelter From The Storm
Just a few days ago my friend Colleen was recollecting an emotionally moving event she experienced when she came to Ethiopia with me to visit the Mossy Foot ministry. We went to see a house being built for a mossy foot widow.
Reaching Those In Need
It is a day of celebration when the community and local church come together to build a house for one of our neediest widows. Mossy Foot provides a carpenter to coordinate the building and we pay for the needed building materials.
Students Learn about Mossy Foot
Before becoming Executive Director of Mossy Foot Project in Ethiopia, Zebdewos was a high school science teacher, principal, and then school superintendent. He truly understands and values the impact of education and has a real love for students.
Love In Action
FEBRUARY is a month when we especially express our love for others. You, dear partner, have shown great love to our mossy foot patients. Due to your generosity we were able to achieve the following in 2021.
Christmas Greetings from Mossy Foot Project
Christmas is a time of great JOY and giving. You, dear Mossy Foot partner, are a purveyor of JOY. Without your generosity, this story that begins bleakly, would not have a joyful ending.
ENKUTATASH! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Yes, Ethiopia celebrated the beginning of the New Year of 2014 in September. Ethiopia is one of the few countries in the world with its own calendar, using the Gregorian calendar rather than the Julian calendar that we follow in the Western world.
